Storage Observer

Capacity is one number. The folder that holds it is not. Scan local disks, network shares, SharePoint, S3, Azure Files, and Blob, then see which path is using the space, what it costs, and how that folder grew.

Self-hosted. The scan runs next to the files.

How it works

Daemons where the files are.
One screen for the storage.

Deploy a daemon next to each source. It reads local disks, network shares, SharePoint, AWS, and Azure storage, then reports usage to a central server. The GUI shows how much each source consumes.

Speed

1,500 directory entries/s on remote SMB.

Measured while enumerating an Azure Files share over SMB. Each entry is a file or directory returned by the listing call. SMB metadata latency makes that share a slow source. A local disk or another protocol lists at a different rate.
